1- INRODUCTION

      XVIII. Regional Directorate, Isparta constitutes one of the twenty-six Regional diroctarates of the State Hydraulic Works which is responsible for the improvement of the water and earth sources of our country.

    The XVIII. Regional Directorate covers the cities of Burdur, Afyon and Isparta, which is the center of the region, and also Akşehir and Tuzlukçu being counties of Konya.

The XVIII. Regional Directorate having 31987 square kilometers of the boundaries is responsible for the improvement of all water and land sources from the first examination stage to the application and management stages.  The Regional Directorate was first established after the permission of the Ministry on April, 24 in 1969 and started actively to work on June,15 in 1969 after a Regional Director being appointed.

Our Regional Organization is constituted by one Regional Director, 3 Assistant Directorates, 11 Sectional Directorates, 1 Directorate of Law Affairs, 1 Civil Defence Branch and 1 K.B.İ Financial Office Directorate.

The Provinces of XVIII. Regional Organization are formed by 181. Sectional Directorate-Isparta, 182. Sectional Directorate-Burdur, 183. Sectional Directorate-Afyon, the Directorate of the Irrigation of Isparta Plains and 18/11 Directorate of Boring Section-Afyon
