XI th Regional Directarate of State Hydraulic Works was established in 1960. Total project value of the Regional Directorate is 509 million $ and budget is 7,67 million $.
                Our Regional Diroctorate is responsible for realization of water resources development projets in Edirne, Kırklareli and Tekirdağ provinces of Turkey, which cover an area of 18 789 km 2 and has a population of 1 357 616. Main duities of the regional directorate are construction of dams, irrigation facilities and flood control.
                Totally 76 056 ha land which 15 215 ha of it is groundwater irrigation with 365 wells was opened to irrigation by regional directorate until now. When the other areas that has been irrigated by Village Service and Public itself are taken into account, the total amount reaches to 144 639 ha. As it seen 53 % of the irrigation has ben done by regional diroctorate. After completion of the irrigation facilities under construction 54 879  ha land will be irrigated additionally. On the other hand when considering irrigation projects in investment program and planning stage, 328 879 ha more land will be irrigated by XI th Regional Directorate in the future.
                The surface water potantial of the region is 9,46 million cubic meter per year which equals 5% of Turkey's total capacity. The region has 392,70 million cubic meter per year groundwater capacity of which 94% has already been appropriated to users.
                By constructing 279 flood facilities, 79 304 ha land has been protected from flood with 113 residential areas. XI th Regional Directorate has 275 km drainage canal and 9 pumping station.
                Inspite of the increment of the irrigation day by day, the number of the employees has become decrease because of retinement and some other resonans. As a result, for more economic and effective irrigation as part of the General Directorate's works, transference of the irrigation facilities has been accelarated by Regional Directorate.

                142 Permanent staff works of XI th Regional Directorate of state Hydraulic Works.Out of which 112 are technical staff, 30 are administrative staff, 951 permanent labor. Together with 18 seasonal labor total staff of the region becomes 1111 for today.
